Ofsted Inspection Report June 2023
We are really pleased that you have taken the time and effort to find us.
Ingleby Mill is a large, happy primary school with over 500 pupils, including nursery pupils.
We are extremely fortunate in having a dedicated staff team committed to meeting the needs of our children. We are supported by a highly effective governing body whose members establish a strategic direction which supports good financial management, rigorous safeguarding, positive well-being and the best possible outcomes for children.
Children, staff, parents and governors all work together to create a happy, caring, hard-working atmosphere in which pupils can thrive.
We have a school motto based around the initial letters of our school name and which reinforces the ethos here:
Imagine
Make a difference
Persevere
Succeed
Our motto is closely linked to our values:
Happiness – when we enjoy what we are doing, we learn at our best
Confidence – when we have confidence, we will always ‘have a go’
Creativity – when our creativity is developed, we can think and learn in imaginative ways
Challenge – when we are challenged, we are engaged
Perseverance – when we are encouraged to keep going, even when the going gets tough,
we develop resilience, positive outlooks and self-belief
Respect – when we are respectful, we can see things through the eyes of others
We were thrilled by comments in our last Ofsted report (February 2018) which described behaviour as ‘exemplary…..pupils have excellent manners and show respect for one another’. The hard work of our teachers was also acknowledged in comments about successful outcomes for children across school. ‘Children in the early years make an excellent start’, ‘Pupils in KS1 achieve highly against national averages in all areas’, ‘Attainment at the end of KS2 in 2017 was impressive’.
We take our role in educating our children extremely seriously. Part of this role includes helping them to understand how to keep themselves safe (you can find further details about this in our curriculum information and on our parent pages about e-safety and keeping your child safe online). The school has always put its responsibilities to safeguard children at the heart of its work. The Designated Safeguarding Leads in school are Mrs Williams and Mrs Dent. They can be contacted on 01642 761985. For further information, please see our Child Protection Policy and Safeguarding Statement on the policies page of this website.
We are extremely proud of all of our children and we value working closely with parents and the community.
Please enjoy browsing our website: it contains information about all aspects of school life and gives links to key sites including Ofsted and the Dfe Performance Tables. Or scroll down to the bottom of our home page where you will find a video of our children singing our school song.
If you require any further information please do not hesitate to contact us directly.
